Chair of Educational Psychology and Research on Excellence

Gifted education and talent development are the two main research foci for the chair of Educational Psychology and Research on Excellence.

Department chair Prof. Drs. Albert Ziegler and his team tackle various fields of educational psychology in their research for example research on motivation, self-regulated learning, and gender stereotypes.

The chair frequently collaborates with the chair of School Research, School Development, and Evaluation located at the University of Regensburg. The collaborators are actively engaged in multiple third-party-funded research projects, such as those focused on mentoring and talent development. Additionally, there are BMBF-funded (German Ministry of Research and Education) projects, namely FoesaMINT and the recently initiated MesH_MINT, addressing STEM education and based at the chairs in Erlangen-Nuremberg and Regensburg.
