Prof. Dr. Doris Lewalter

Doris Lewalter is Professor of Formal and Informal Learning at the TUM School of Science and Technology at the Technical University of Munich. She is Chair of the Board of the Center for International Educational Comparison Studies (ZIB), Director of the National Center PISA and a member of the Standing Scientific Commission of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Federal States. Her research interests relate to (1) teaching and learning processes and their effects in formal and informal learning environments (in particular schools, museums and teacher training) (2) the design and support of museum visits by both (adult) leisure visitors and school classes as well as the interplay between school and non-school education and (3) the design of innovative learning scenarios with digital media. Ms. Lewalter has acquired numerous third-party funded projects on these topics and has published nationally and internationally.
