Thomas Breda is an Associate Professor at the Paris School of Economics, a full-time Senior Researcher at the CNRS, and Director of the Employment and Labour programme at the Institute for Public Policy. A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure (Paris), his research in labour economics focuses on developing innovative methods to measure labour market inequalities and to understand their social and institutional roots. He is particularly interested in three broad types of institutions: gender norms, systems of worker representation, and labour taxation. His work has been published in leading international journals such as Science, Nature, The Economic Journal, and AEJ: Applied Economics, as well as in books and French-language publications. His most distinctive contributions examine worker representation, gender inequality, and especially the underrepresentation of women in STEM fields.
