Prof. Drs. Albert Ziegler is a full professor and chair of Educational Psychology and Research on Excellence at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany). He is the founding chairman of the European Talent Support Network (ETSN) and has served as vice president of the European Council for High Ability (ECHA). From 2014 to 2021, he was editor-in-chief of High Ability Studies. Drs. Ziegler’s research interests include self-regulated learning, mentoring, the identification and development of giftedness, and the design of effective learning environments. He is the developer of the actiotope model of giftedness, which emphasizes a dynamic-systems approach to talent development. Prof. Drs. Ziegler has authored more than 450 scholarly publications, including journal articles, book chapters, and books. He currently leads multiple large-scale, grant-funded research projects focused on mentoring and developing STEM talent.
